Alginate (Sodium Alginate)

Sodium Alginate is a natural polymer extracted from brown seaweed. It forms irreversible gels in the presence of calcium ions and is ideal for controlled-release and film-forming applications.

Key Features:

  • Gel-forming with calcium
  • Excellent viscosity control
  • Biocompatible and bio-based
  • Stable across a range of pH and temperature

Industrial Uses:

  • Surface Treatments – controlled-release systems
  • Adhesives – thickens and stabilises
  • Personal Care – gelling agent for masks, creams
  • Coatings – used in paper, textiles, and specialty finishes

Available in: industrial grades.
